It appeared as if the Blue Devils have been going to salvage a win within the sequence after leaping out to a 4-0 lead within the backside of the primary inning, however eight unanswered runs from the Gamecocks over the second and third innings put Duke in a gap it could not dig out of.
Gamecocks first baseman Arianna Rodi shined once more, connecting on her eighth homer of the season and ending the day 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Sam Gress earned the win in aid after going 4 innings with three earned runs and 5 strikeouts. The Blue Devils have been unable to interrupt the sport open, leaving seven on base in Sunday’s loss and 21 in complete within the three-game sweep.
