MANILA, Philippines — A Malaysian was arrested for allegedly smuggling over P29.7 million value of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) on the Ninoy Aquino Worldwide Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 in Pasay Metropolis.
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) mentioned on Tuesday that its brokers apprehended the passenger on Saturday after 4,368 grams of shabu, valued at P29.7 million, was reportedly discovered within the foreigner’s baggage.
The BOC-NAIA made the arrest in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Company (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Company Drug Interdiction Process Group.

“A mixture of x-ray scanning, Okay-9 inspection and an in depth bodily examination led authorities to a suspicious bundle containing white crystalline substances,” the BOC mentioned in an announcement.
“Subsequent chemical evaluation confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine hydrochloride,” it famous.

The passenger was instantly positioned below the custody of PDEA for inquest proceedings.
The individual is going through costs for violating the Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 or the Complete Harmful Medicine Act of 2002 and RA No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
The unlawful medicine have been turned over to the PDEA after the arrest. /apl
